though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to
the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting
down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the
knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of
Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee...
you go through these topics, please pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give
you (and those to whom you minister) the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of
Him: That the eyes of your (and their) understanding be enlightened; that you (and they) may know what is the hope of
His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of
His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set
Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
and has put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church,
which is His body, the fullness of Him that fills all in all.
Four steps to knowing
God and understanding His will:
1. Pray the prayer of Ephesians
1:17-23 (above) because we're promised:
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh
receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth
us And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
(1 John 5:14-15)
2. Study the entire Bible because:
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
(2 Timothy 3:15-17)
3. Read in context and determine
righteousness with scripture that confirms scripture because:
...In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.
(2 Corinthians 13:1b)
4. Use scripture to interpret
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
